Initial Consultation & assessment

Together is better

Your Initial Consultation is a 60 minute appointment where you share your movement challenges with me and I offer you re-patterning/ recovery strategies.


Together we will do a full postural assessment and explore some gentle movements to help foster your sense of how you sit, stand and move in your every day life.


When you work with me we become a team. At the end of the consultation you’ll have time to decide whether we're a good fit as a  team, or if you feel ready to transition to a group class.


My clinic is situated about 6 minutes inland from Central Rangiora. You'll get the address in your booking confirmation.



Follow up sessions

Follow-up sessions are designed to check your progress and to fine-tune or add new Somatic movements. We work together to ensure you get the most out of your experience.

You will sit or lie, comfortably clothed, on a low padded table or the floor.


You will be guided through safe, effortless movement designed to bring unfamiliar and unknown parts of your body into your sensory awareness.

5 sessions - your progress will be cumulative, so you will really start to understand how to apply Somatic principles to your every day life.

The power of gentleness

Simple but incredibly potent is how I describe Clinical Somatics. It's a very gentle and deeply soothing practice for the nervous system - often people will fall asleep during the practice as they let go of very deep seated tensions.

Learn Pandiculation

Instead of learning movements we use movements to help us sense how we move. One of the main techniques we use to do this is called pandiculation.

Retrain your nervous system 

This approach retrains the nervous system to move and sense your body more effectively. The results are increased flexibility, increased efficiency and ease of movement, as well as reduced and often eliminated chronic pain related to muscle tension and joint discomfort.
